Peru Trip - Lima

It has been a long time since I have been so excited about a trip. I am not sure if it is the fact I am once again venturing off to a new country and continent to explore or if it is that I have pulled out my good old backpack to use once again that hasn‘t been used since completing our year long Living a Dream trip around the world. Or perhaps it is just because I am finally going to get to see the elusive Lost City of the Incas – Machu Picchu and a trip into the steamy Amazon jungle – two things that I have always wanted to do.

As I sit here at Terminal 3 at Pearson International I wonder who else will be in our GAP Adventure group. Specializing in small adventure groups just about anywhere in the world, this will be my first trip with GAP whom I have sold so many times to clients and have always raved about their experience. I can`t wait!

Travelling with Continental Airlines via Houston our busy 11 day itinerary starts in Lima. From there we will venture north to Chiclayo and Trujillo before flying high into the Andes to Cusco. From there we explore the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and the town Augas Caliente before flying north again to the Amazon and then back to Lima to make the journey back home to Toronto.

The tour looks incredible hitting so many of the highlights in the 11 days that we are away. Of course Peru has so much to offer there is just no way that we can see and do it all in an 11 day trip so I will have to save hiking the Inca Trail, Lake Titicaca, Puna, Colca Canyon and Arequipa for a return visit.

For now I will open up my guide book on Peru to keep learning about the fascinating history and all this incredible country has to offer before I get there myself and experience it first hand. Throughout the trip, as time permits, I hope to post regular updates and photos here so come back and visit often.
Cheers,
Carl

New Online Travel Scam - Beware

Yet another online travel scam is emerging making consumers think twice about booking on a website that they are unfamiliar with. Top Hotel Chains such as Hyatt, Ramada, Wyndham and others are finding that over 71,000 travellers each month are getting caught in this new travel scam when they are trying to book their own hotels online.

When booking hotels, consumers are redirected to another fraudulent website that looks just like the real hotel website where they proceed to provide all their contact information and credit card numbers. Upon arriving at their hotel no reservation exists and for the room they have already paid for in full by credit card.

For more details on this story have a look at http://www.fraudtip.com/ or Click Here and remember to be very careful anytime you are giving your credit card or private information out over the internet. Only deal with site you are 100% you know and trust!

Carnival Cruises Launches Early Booking Fares

Carnival is excited to announce that on Monday, January 12, they will launch a new cruise pricing option called Early Saver, which will offer fares as much as 25 percent lower than our best generally available rates! Early Saver also provides rate protection for passengers if rates later drop below what was originally paid.

The Early Saver rate protection feature provides that if a lower Carnival advertised rate becomes available after the booking is made, a rate adjustment can be requested and Carnival will issue the difference in the form of a non-refundable shipboard credit. The lower fare must be for the same ship, sailing date, stateroom category and number of guests. You can now book in advance with confidence that you are locking in the absolute best rates by booking early!

Early Saver rates will be offered up to three months prior to sailing date for cruises of five days or less and up to five months prior to sailing date for longer length voyages, subject to availability. Early Saver fares include all stateroom types, including suites and allow you to choose a specific stateroom at the time of booking. Early Saver bookings require a non-refundable deposit compared to the usual refundable deposit.

The Early Saver program will be available on virtually all Carnival ships and itineraries.
